“Vikings” season 5 episode 11 is less than two months away and many spoilers were already shared prior to its arrival. With the teasers and trailers available, it is clear that peace is nowhere in sight and Kattegat will still be a battleground for power.
To be more specific, “Vikings” season 5 episode 11 will show bloodshed and betrayal as the characters grapple for the throne and reign as the king or queen. It was suggested that Rollo (Clive Standen) may be deceived by Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen ) and this could lead him to side with Lagertha(Katheryn Winnick), Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) and Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith).
In “Vikings” season 5’s first-half finale, Rollo and his army were shown arriving back in Kattegat. Since he had a fallout with Ivar, there is a chance he will shift allegiance and offer to help Queen Lagertha and his sons. However, it is also possible that Ivar has a secret agenda for sending Rollo to the other side and it could be to boost his evil plans, Express noted.
Some avid viewers also backed this theory. On Reddit, they discussed what they think will happen in “Vikings” season 5 episode 11 and one of them commented, “What if Rollo has actually been tricked and thought he was supporting Bjorn and Lagertha? What if he will arrive to see his armies being used for the opposite side?”
Another one chimed in saying, “I think he will support Ivar and Hvitserk, then he will convince Hvitserk to betray Ivar.”
This scenario appeared to be correct when Alex Høgh Andersen implied during the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con that this could happen in “Vikings” season 5. “Let’s make a guy who can’t control himself control an entire city,” Metro quoted him as saying.
He further explained that Hvitserk could kill Ivar as he becomes more frustrated by his older brother’s uncontrollable madness. Clive Standen said in an interview, “What’s been more interesting as I’ve come back for season five is that I find myself playing Rollo having more of a kin with Hvitserk." He added that Hvitserk is a character who seems to have gotten lost in the system and this may mean he could really deceive Ivar along the way.
In any case, The Seer (John Kavanagh) predicted a battle and said that war is not yet over. Thus, fans will see brutal bloodshed in the upcoming episode.
“Vikings” season 5B, episode 11 will premiere on Nov. 28.
