The second round of the U.S. presidential debate is coming soon and several outlets are scheduled to stream the event online for free. For anyone who wants to watch Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump go head-to-head once again, they can watch via YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook among others.
St. Louis, Missouri will be the venue for the debate at Washington University, which is scheduled on Sunday, October 9th, Tech Radar reports. For U.S. viewers, the debate will start at 9:00 PM ET and 6:00 PM PT.
Every major news network will be conducting live-streams of the debate via their respective YouTube channels, including NBC, CNN, Fox News, and PBS. Some prominent YouTube personalities will also be doing their on live-streaming events, including the popular rebel channel “The Young Turks.”
Some media companies will also be using other platforms to stream the event, with Bloomberg confirmed to do so via Twitter, Vox reports. It doesn’t stop there, however, as users can also take advantage of new technologies to watch the main event and other peripheral discussions about the debate using virtual reality.
Partnering with AltspaceVR, NBC will also be bringing the debate to viewers via devices like the “Oculus Rift” and the “HTC Vive.” Samsung’s “Gear VR” will also be compatible, but other generic headsets such as Google’s “Cardboard” will not.
Among the prospective sub-events leading up to the debate include Q&A sessions with political experts who will be interacting with viewers in a way. There will even be such things as comedy shows for those who are looking for that sort of thing. For those who are thinking about watching the debate on their phones, the best apps to use include YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter just to make things easier.
Moderating the event will be CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz from ABC. Both personalities are experienced in asking politicians tough questions. However, the voters will be the ones to ask the questions, this time, thanks to a town hall debate system.
