There is a lot to be said about being eager to work on a project, and it seems “Westworld” Season 3 has been in the minds of its creators since the first season. The upcoming episodes are still in pre-production and filming has yet to begin. Fans can only hope that it’s because they are trying to make it better than season 2.
As Otaku Art notes, shooting has not yet started for “Westworld” Season 3 since the producers are still getting everything ready to make that happen. There is a lot of work to be done in this sci-fi Western and that is before the actors even get there. In fact, this could take quite a while if the gap between the first two seasons is anything to go by.
It took 14 months for Season 2 of “Westworld” to premiere after the first season ended. Considering the comments that the creators have been sharing with regards to the season, it’s going to be even longer. “Westworld” Season 3 is going to be an even bigger undertaking, after all, with the cast going out to the big wide world.
Based on the comments that show creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Jo have said in interviews, they have been thinking about “Westworld” Season 3 since working on the pilot episode. This seems to indicate that the show’s third season is where much of the pair’s creative reserve is being poured. If so, it’s no wonder that the second season was something of a bust.
As Metro recently noted, the co-creators promise that “Westworld” Season 3 is going to represent a “radical shift” in the show’s universe. This will be up to fans to decide, though, once the program premieres. Unfortunately, it’s still too early for the date to be announced and this will likely be the case until next yet.
