Blizzard is aiming to spark the magic that “World of Warcraft Classic” has brought to the gaming world almost twenty years ago. So far, however, the company hasn’t provided new information about what their planning for this rekindling. In an attempt to address this issue, Blizzard’s community manager posted a blog post explaining their silence and the progress they’re making behind closed doors.
“The development [for ‘World of Warcraft Classic’] is definitely moving along but it’s a complicated process and I don’t have any specific details to share at this point. We know you’d like to have a Q&A and a variety of things answered, but we’d prefer to have concrete answers to give you guys or new information. I’m personally very opposed to doing a Q&A for the sake of doing it without saying anything new. For everyone’s sake that’s just the better choice when it comes to these types of things.”
The response from the players was varied with some thanking the team for the update, while others wondering why they were no concrete development in place since it’s about to launch in the summer. Of course, given that the developers haven’t tried anything like this before, it’s understandable that they’re remaining tight-lipped about “World of Warcraft Classic.”
As for what can players expect in the launch, it’s been reported that “World of Warcraft Classic” will run the 1.12 patch as its “base.” The developers have also said that they’re going be sticking with the clunky gameplay that hardcore followers have experienced back in the game’s heyday.
One of the major challenges that the developers highlighted is the difficulty of coordinating people to work together during a raid. They claim that strong communication between party members is an integral part of the “World of Warcraft Classic” experience. This, in turn, will create a solidified relationship between players who will seek to re-party with members who performed well in a given instance. Fans are hoping that the developers would nail this one down as the overall franchise is needing a much-needed revitalization for years.
