Apple’s highly anticipated product launch event this fall is happening in two weeks. The iPhone maker announced on Wednesday that, as previously rumored, it will take place in early September.

‘Far out’: When and where to watch the iPhone 14 event

Like previous announcements, Apple did not reveal much aside from the when and where of the event. It is happening on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. PT. Apple fans will be able to follow the event through Apple.com or the Apple TV app. But it is most likely going to be streamed on Apple’s official YouTube channel as well.

The invitation sent to the press includes another detail. The Apple event next month will be held once again in Steve Jobs Theater at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. This signals a return to Apple’s pre-pandemic events, where it welcomes an audience to witness its event live.

What to expect on September 7?

Apple is calling the event “Far out,” and Apple SVP of worldwide marketing Greg Joswiak shared a brief video teaser making a reference to celestial bodies. The teaser might even remind Apple fans of the recently released images taken from the James Webb Space Telescope. It has unsurprisingly spurred speculations on how it connects to the September event, where Apple will most likely unveil the iPhone 14 series and new Apple Watches.

The image in the invites led to theories that Apple might be hinting at the addition of built-in astrophotography mode in the upcoming iPhones. It may also have something to do with the 48MP main camera upgrade in iPhone 14. Others suggest that it might be referring to the rumored satellite features that could allow users to send a text in emergency situations.

Aside from the iPhone 14 series, the tech giant will likely unveil a slate of new Apple Watches next month. The company is rumored to release three smartwatch models this year, including the regular Apple Watch Series 8, the second-generation Apple Watch SE, and the new Apple Watch Pro with a rugged design.

The upcoming Apple Watches (except the SE model) are expected to feature a new body temperature sensor. It is unclear yet how it will function, but there are reports that it may be able to detect if the user has a fever.
