The spinoff of the “Breaking Bad” series, “Better Call Saul,” is already on its sixth installment, and it will be the last. Prior to the release of season 5, its viewers already know that the upcoming episodes are set to conclude Jimmy McGill’s story.
Avid followers of the show are actually aware that the drama will only run for six seasons. This is because the producers who were also the same people who handled “Breaking Bad” already said from the start that they do not want “Better Call Saul” to exceed the original’s number of seasons. The Aaron Paul-starrer drama ended in 2013, and it offered just six installments in all.
AMC Entertainment head, Sarah Barnett, said that airing the series and having it renewed has always been a good decision for the network. She added that they did not think twice when it comes to the drama’s renewal because it is so popular, in fact, it made history on AMC.
“Greenlighting a prequel to one of the most iconic series in television history is one of the boldest swings that AMC has ever taken,” Barnett said via the company’s official statement. “Thanks to the creative genius of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, it has also been one of the most rewarding.”
What to expect in the final run
It was confirmed that “Better Call Saul” season 6 is concluding with 13 episodes. It is longer than the usual 10 stories per season since this is the last time that the drama is airing.
Probably, the added three episodes were put in place to better explain the story. Since there are so many things that needed to be addressed in the plot, offering a slightly longer season will make sure that the drama will leave with a clear ending.
A cameo that fans want to see in the finale
As the show is a spinoff of “Breaking Bad,” fans want to see Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston in “Better Call Saul” season 6. They said that since the timeline of “BCS” is getting closet to the timeline of the drama it was based on, it is time for the main characters to show up. Besides, this is the last run already.
Screen rant reported that the mentioned “Breaking Bad” actors also want to be in “Better Call Saul” season 6, and they are ready to film once they receive a request from showrunner Vince Gilligan. Finally, if filming can begin early and there will be no delays, the final season is expected to arrive in 2021.
