‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8’s episode 21, titled “Battle Scars,” will feature Hetty reuniting with her former Vietnam war associates as they work with the NCIS team to investigate a kidnapping by a former Navy commander. The victim is reportedly a corrupt officer of the Veterans Affairs office, who has been stealing funds for a venture.
The synopsis for “Battle Scars” posted on TV Guide reads, “Hetty's (Linda Hunt) former Vietnam war colleagues partner with NCIS after a former Navy commander kidnaps a corrupt Veterans Affairs administrator who has been siphoning funds.”
The upcoming episode is set to follow Hetty as she reunites with her former war colleagues, newly-retired Admiral AJ Chegwidden (John M. Jackson) and Admiral Sterling Bridges (James Remar), when they turn to NCIS for assistance on a new case. According to Christian Post, the team will investigate the disappearance of a corrupt Veterans Affairs administrator after they discover that he had been stealing funds and was eventually kidnapped by a former Navy commander, Charles Langston (guest star Carl Lumbly).
It will be interesting to watch the dynamic between Hetty old and new team, considering that some of the members of the younger group are used to working amongst themselves. This would apply to Callen (Chris O'Donnell), Sam (LL Cool J), Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), and Kensi (Daniela Ruah).
The previous episode, titled "From Havana with Love," followed Kensi and Deeks as they went undercover in a Cuban Club. The team had to investigate the case of a woman, a Navy contracter, that was allegedly selling state secrets.
‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8’s episode 21, titled “Battle Scars,” is scheduled to air on CBS on April 23, 2017. It was directed by James Whitmore Jr. and written by Jordana Lewis Jaffe & Andrew Bartels. It will be followed by episode 22, titled "Golden Days," directed by Ruba Nadda and scheduled to be released on April 30.
