“Power Book II: Ghost” is up next after season 6 concluded a few months ago. This will be a spinoff and Starz revealed that it will offer five stories and each will focus on some of the most memorable characters in the drama.
The show has been hugely popular but it already reached the end which led to its conclusion in season 6. But because of its popularity, Starz and the drama’s executive producers grant the fans wish by producing spinoffs.
The first part in the series of sequels
For the first story, the network will premiere “Power Book II: Ghost” but it is not sure how Ghost’s character will play out in this story since he already died in season 6’s finale. Perhaps, it will be a flashback but still, anything can happen.
In any case, it was already revealed that “Power Book II: Ghost” will pick up a few days after James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) died. Tariq went back to college so he can collect his inheritance and aside from this he has other plans.
In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, “Power Book II: Ghost” star Michael Rainey Jr. revealed some spoilers for the upcoming spinoff. He shared what Tariq is up to and teased he will help his mom get out of the prison even illegally.
"Well, he’s got to make money, so he’s going to be on the grind,” the actor said. “He’s definitely going to be focused on trying to help his mom and her situation. But I feel like Tariq is going to do whatever he needs to do. Also, he has help grandma and his little sister, so he’ll do anything to take care of them. Tariq is going to be grinding a lot.”
Lakeisha’s surprising return
One of the surprising twists in “Power Book II: Ghost” is the return of LaKeisha (La La Anthony). Her character was already killed off but showrunner Courteney Kemp said that she may still come back.
"Hopefully. I want to write something for her,” Express quoted the showrunner as saying. “I think La La is incredibly talented."
Finally, “Power Book II: Ghost” has no premiere date yet since filming has been delayed due to the coronavirus infection crisis.
