Fans have been waiting for “Rick and Morty” season 5 since they know that the production team has worked on them in advance. Also, they don’t expect any delay as show creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland already said before, there will be no more long delays like what happened between seasons 3 and 4.

Their followers believe this because the two received a renewal request for 70 episodes when the fourth season was confirmed two years ago. Harmon and Roiland said that the advance orders will allow them to work early on the upcoming seasons so they are sure there will be no more waiting time between the releases.

Now, for “Rick and Morty” season 5, the show creators shared they have continued to work despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Although they can go to their offices anymore, they shared that the team is working from home. In fact, they have completed the fifth installment now.

No delay despite the pandemic

Fans are worried about the delay and there were even reports that say “Rick and Morty” season 5 was canceled. This is not true because Adult Swim even released the first teaser already.

The short clip took away the fans’ worries and their anticipation for the release of the fifth season was renewed. In any case, Dan Harmon said that “Rick and Morty” season 5 is on time contrary to rumors that they are already very late with the release.

He said that they are right on track so there is nothing to be concern about. He further assured everyone by disclosing that they have been working on the upcoming season for months already so it is nearly complete.

“We had already finished season 4 and the writers are working on season 5 in two-hour blocks through Zoom,” Harmon revealed to The Wrap. “There are a lot of things that are better about a Zoom writers’ room, and they are balanced out by things that are worse.”

Season 6 is coming up and production is underway

Since they are just adding the finishing touches to “Rick and Morty” season 5, Harmon said that they have proceeded to work on the next installment. This is good news for it will be ready before season 5 ends.

For a bit of spoiler, he added that they are thinking of doing a crossover. Entertainment Weekly reported that Harmon said a crossover episode with “BoJack Horseman” is seriously considered. Meanwhile, there is no official premiere date for “Rick and Morty” season 5 yet.
