Lots of people are waiting for “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 since it was already teased in the finale of the seventh season that Rick, Marty Lagina, and their team of experts have plans for the “big dig.” They have agreed to dig deeper into the Money Pit because they deduced the original vault may have sunk deeper over the years.
They have identified the location and will be using a process that involves freezing small holes around the Money Pit so they can easily place a big can and scoop up whatever it is down there. They believe they will finally find at least the container that held the treasures in “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 since the valuables could have already been removed many years ago.
Series renewal
The hunt for the treasure is not yet over however, History has not formally renewed “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 yet. But this doesn’t mean that the show is not coming back. At this point, even without any renewal announcement, it will surely return as filming is already underway.
The Lagina brothers and their team are hoping that they can solve the 220-year-old mystery of the treasures of Oak Island. They have already taken steps to get answers and have made spectacular discoveries in the previous seasons.
Other than the fabled gems that may or may have been buried in the Money Pit, it seems that the team can also change the history of North America after they have stumbled upon clues that suggest a different story from what history has told the modern people. They may be able to prove that the ancient Roman mariners visited the island first thousands of years before Columbus did.
Filming update
“The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 filming is ongoing as shown in the photos posted on Oak Island from the Other Side of the Causeway Facebook page. The owner of this page lives on Oak Island so she can see everything that is going in there.
Based on her accounts, she saw equipment and huge trucks coming in and she also spotted drones in the area. The page owner also mentioned she saw works have started in the swamp, Money Pit and 10X. She has not seen the Lagina brothers though but some crew are already there.
In her newest update, a massive crane and swamp digger have arrived on the island. Fans have commented that these could be the equipment that they will use for the “big dig” in “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8.
Finally, there is no release date yet for “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8. Fans should wait for an announcement from History but it was predicted to premiere in the second half of 2021.
