Xiaomi having several sub-brands of smartphones means there are many users waiting for any updates about the next version of the MIUI operating system. As for the Xiaomi MIUI 13, one of its highly anticipated features is the new rumored shutdown menu that may have already been leaked.
Xiaomi MIUI 13 features: Allegedly leaked video shows new ‘Shutdown’ swipe menu
The MIUI 12 update was just released earlier this year and is still being rolled out to certain devices, so Xiaomi is unlikely to speak about the upcoming MIUI 13 anytime soon. But the rumor mill has already started with several pieces of information pointing to the release of a redesigned shutdown menu.
Most recently, a brief video appeared in a Xiaomi Telegram community apparently showing how the new menu works. The video shows a vertically-aligned rounded rectangle menu with a toggle button in the middle. It can then be swiped up to choose to reboot the device or swipe down for the full power-off option. The alleged MIUI 13 shutdown menu in the video looks very similar to an earlier screenshot that was also leaked.
The MIUI 13 is still many months away from being released, so it would not be surprising if the final power button design ends up looking different than what is shown in the leaks. Avid fans can also review new features released in the Android 11 version as they will most likely be the basis for other improvements to be released on MIUI 13.
Meanwhile, the MIUI 13 could also improve some MIUI-exclusive features introduced in its 12th version such as the Super Wallpaper. Developers reportedly confirmed they are considering launching a tool that would let users create their own Super Wallpapers much like how various Android smartphone makers with their own operating systems allow people to design their own themes.
Xiaomi MIUI 13 release date: When will it arrive
Unlike Google and Apple, the schedule of new MIUI releases are a bit more flexible, but a new version has consistently been released every year. MIUI 12 first went live last April on some devices, so its successor should arrive sometime in 2021.
