Details of the Recall
On May 9, Aldi announced a recall in cooperation with Schreiber Foods, Inc. The recall includes several varieties of Happy Farms cream cheese products: Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread, and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread.
Hy-Vee, Inc., an Iowa-based grocery retailer, issued a voluntary recall on May 6 for two of its cream cheese spreads due to potential salmonella contamination. These products were manufactured at different third-party facilities around the Midwest and sold under Hy-Vee’s private label and bulk packaging programs.

Aldi's Products are sold at select stores in 29 states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia, among others.
Hy-Vee's Products are distributed across eight Midwestern states, including Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Customers who purchased any of the affected cream cheese products should discard them immediately or return them to their local store for a full refund. Aldi and Hy-Vee have both removed the affected products from their shelves.
