‘American Crime’ season 3’s episode 2 is set to feature a suspicious Jeanette as she confronts her family over the fire at the farm that cost the lives of several undocumented workers. Meanwhile, Kimara will push Shae to testify against her former pimp.
The synopsis for episode 2 posted on TV Guide reads, “Jeanette (Felicity Huffman) grows suspicious of her family's intentions surrounding a devastating fire that killed several of their undocumented workers.
Meanwhile, Shae (Ana Mulvoy Ten) is urged to testify against her former pimp by Kimara (Regina King); Isaac (Richard Cabral) looks out for Coy (Connor Jessup) as he adjusts to a harsh new life on the farm; and Luis' (Benito Martinez) search for his missing son continues.”
Season 3’s premiere episode began with the introduction of the new set of characters with a storyline set in North Carolina. It focuses on the plight of undocumented workers, who begin to question their safety and security.
Huffman’s Jeanette is set to grow suspicious after she discovers that the fire that razed the farm killed several undocumented workers. She will confront her in-laws as well as her own family’s intentions about the dubious events.
Meanwhile, Kimara will push Shae to testify against her former pimp. In one scene from the promo, Sandra Oh’s Abby Tanaka tells Kimara, “You are out there every single day swimming through the worst of the worst.” The social worker replies, “I want to help kids in need.”
By the end of the promo, Kimara insists, “We’re the ones that have the choice because we actially can do something.” It will be interesting to see how Kimara will help Shae with her case.
According to the recap of the season premiere posted on Entertainment Weekly, Shae was taken into police custody during a sting operation. It was then that Kimara decided to work with her to track down her former pimp.
‘American Crime’ season 3’s episode 2 is scheduled to air on ABC on March 19, 2017. It was directed by Julie Hebert and written by John Ridley. It will be followed by episode 3, scheduled to be released on March 26 and directed by Victoria Mahoney.
The critically-acclaimed anthology crime-drama television series was created by John Ridley and premiered on March 2015. Ridley serves as executive producer together with Michael J. McDonald and Julie Hebert. The series received ten Emmy Awards nominations including Outstanding Limited Miniseries, Writing for a Miniseries, and Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for Felicity Huffman.
