Anthony Edwards' Adidas AE1 Low ‘USA’ Debut Excites Sneaker Enthusiasts at Paris Olympics
All eyes are on Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games, and the USA men's national basketball team is exciting to sneaker enthusiasts. According to Sneaker News, Anthony Edwards' Olympic debut is one of the more intriguing narratives, with the Minnesota Timberwolves star dominating the sports and sneaker newswires. Edwards has claimed not one but three "USA" colorways of the adidas AE1 Low during the offseason.
A red and blue "USA" player edition has been released, completing a patriotic trifecta. Previously reported was a Night Indigo colorway, and Edwards was observed lacing up a white pair at practice.
Images uploaded by @yuanchengxin1 reveal the shoe, showcasing a harmonious combination of flag colors. The honeycomb TPU within the cage is dark navy, while the outer portion is red. Blue is in the toe, tongue, and lining, with the mesh portion featuring an additional red element. Like the other two "Olympic"Anthony Edwards shoes, the inner tongue tag features "USA" text, a white adidas heel logo, and tongue branding.
Sneaker enthusiasts can examine the shoes on the court as the group stage competition commences on July 27. However, they are not anticipated to be released at the time of this writing.
Anthony Edwards' Adidas AE1 Low ‘Night Indigo’ Set for August 15 Release at $110
In last month's report, those following Team USA Basketball have probably observed the recently released Instagram video featuring all participants' Olympic footwear. Long-standing squad members like Kevin Durant and LeBron James debuted unique "USA" colorways. Team newcomer Anthony Edwards wore a never-before-seen red, white, and blue low-top pair of his first signature shoe, the adidas AE1.
Although information regarding the release of that specific shoe is not yet available, a distinct "USA" AE1 Low is imminent. Most of the sneaker is covered in "Night Indigo," consistent with the flag's color. A red toe transitions into a layer of red mesh beneath the TPU cage on the sides. The inner tongue is adorned with red "USA" text, emphasizing the significance of the release. The exposed fragment of Boost cushioning on the midsole and the heel logo are colored white to achieve a patriotic appearance.
The pair is scheduled for release on August 15 for $110, representing a $20 reduction from the mid-top AE1 due to the shoe's reduced height.
