The Nike Air More Uptempo "Olympic," originally designed for Scottie Pippen for the 1996 Games, is set to be reintroduced on August 11th in complete family sizes. Initially reintroduced in limited quantities in 2010, the shoes have been retrofitted every four years to align with international competitions, starting in 2012. This marks the fifth retro iteration, maintaining the original design worn by Pippen in Atlanta. The blue leather foundation is wrapped in white "Air" overlays, complemented by red Swoosh logos on the tongue and outsole. The gold numbering on the heel honors Pippen's #8 for Team USA and #33 for the Chicago Bulls.
As Sneaker News reported, the Air Jordan 6 may be the first shoe associated with "Olympic" footwear on July 12, but the Nike Air More Uptempo holds a special place with its on-court legacy colorways. It's also noteworthy that Pippen and Team USA delivered a gold medal-winning performance in Michael Jordan's absence, adding to the shoe's charisma and legacy. The Nike Air More Uptempo "Olympic" will be available in complete family sizing on August 11, 2024, just one day after the men's gold medal game in Paris.
Nike's Air Max Dn Channels 'Gold Bullet' with Striking New Design for Fall 2024 Release
Meanwhile, Nike's Air Max Dn is gearing up for more eye-catching designs following its March 2024 rollout, which focused on basic, essential colorways. The "Dn" designation refers to the Air Max Plus (Tn for the originals) but also incorporates the famous Air Max 97 colorways. Before the shoe's official Air Max Day debut, Supreme released a Friends & Family "Silver Bullet" colorway, followed by the "Gold Bullet" theme in a new mainline offering.
The Air Max Dn in "Metallic Gold" echoes the "Gold Bullet" 97, reinterpreting the original colorway. The shoe features a brushed metallic mudguard that contrasts with the solid upper, clear Air units on a white midsole with sparse Air Max Dn insignia, and a gold accent on the outsole's center section. Although a red mini Swoosh was expected per the AM97 colorway, the midfoot insignia remains gold. The outsole includes red accents, a standard for the model. As of now, Nike has not announced a definitive release date for the $160 pairs anticipated to be available in Fall 2024.
