Asahi Breweries, the iconic Japanese beer brand, introduces "Asahi Super Dry Dry Crystal," a 3.5% ABV twist on the classic Super Dry, ensuring a rich taste without the high alcohol content.
Donning the name "Dry Crystal," this new variation is not an extra-dry version, as one might assume from the repetition of the word "Dry" in its official name. Neither is it a Sailor Moon Crystal-themed brew.
Instead, Asahi Super Dry Dry Crystal stands out as a 3.5 percent alcohol by volume alternative to the standard 5 percent Super Dry. This detail is clearly indicated on its distinctively designed can, which features a red pull-tab.
Despite the lower alcohol content, Asahi Breweries confidently assures us that Dry Crystal won't compromise on taste. There's no need to worry about it being labeled as happoshu, a category often associated with low-priced and low-malt alcoholic beverages. Asahi Breweries promises a satisfyingly full flavor, achieved through the inclusion of Polaris hops and a higher-than-average fermentation rate for the Dry Crystal.
While visually similar to its original counterpart, the Asahi Super Dry Dry Crystal boasts different colorings on its can. This distinction helps consumers identify the newly launched product with ease. It is essential to note that Asahi Super Dry Dry Crystal should not be mistaken for Asahi Dry Zero, Asahi Brewing's zero-alcohol beer option.
For those seeking a moderate alcohol intake, Dry Crystal is the perfect choice. Available in both 350-milliliter and 500-milliliter cans, this new brew provides an ideal balance of alcohol content. The 500-milliliter can, interestingly enough, offers the same alcohol volume as the standard 350-milliliter can of Asahi Super Dry with its five-percent-alcohol composition.
Super Dry has already proved itself popular among beer enthusiasts with its reputation as one of the most refreshing beers on the market. The introduction of Asahi Super Dry Dry Crystal, a satisfying lower-alcohol spinoff, is sure to appeal to those seeking a thirst-quenching experience with a touch of alcohol.
Asahi Super Dry Dry Crystal is set to hit the shelves on October 11.
