‘Avengers: Infinity War Part’ is yet to receive its official running title. It is not called ‘Avengers 3’ as previous rumors suggested. Josh Brolin, who plays the supervillain Thanos in the MCU, expressed his excitement over the upcoming films.
According to MovieWeb, the Russo brothers’ upcoming two-part installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) recently received their respective titles. Part 1 was allegedly entitled ‘Avengers 3’ while Part 2 was revealed to be ‘Avengers 4’. Joe and Anthony Russo clarified that naming the upcoming ‘Avengers’ films part 1 and part 2 are “misleading”, since they aren’t two halves of one movie.
Another article on Comic Book Movie reported that ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ part 1 and part 2 are not officially titled ‘Avengers 3’ and ‘Avengers 4’, respectively. It stated that Anthony Russo was only mentioned ‘Avengers 3’ as a point of reference for their upcoming projects. The yet untitled ‘Avengers: Infinity War Part 1’ is clearly the third ‘Avengers’ film made for the MCU.
Meanwhile, Josh Brolin expressed his excitement for the upcoming films during an interview with Movie Fone. Brolin admitted that he was more popular for his role on the Marvel films.
He said, “First of all, from a publicity point of view, or an interest, I've gotten more publicity playing Thanos, even though I haven't done it yet, than all other movies combined. If there's any blurb of publicity at all for me, it includes Thanos in some way or another.”
Brolin added, “Then the other side of it is really how much it means to people. It all comes down ... these stories ... these Avengers stories all come down to this conclusion, and that's our involvement. Basically, my character against everybody. And it's really fun what they've chosen to do with the story. I think it's brilliant, personally. I was blown away, and had goose pimples pretty much 50% of the time that I was listening to what was going on, and pretty amazed that I'm going to be involved in it. So it's a big thing that's coming up.”
Production is scheduled to commence in November, with part 1 and part 2 filming back-to-back. It is written for the big screen by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Kevin Feige serves as producer while Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, Jon Favreau, Alan Fine, and Stan Lee are executive producing.
‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Part 1 is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2018. It is based on the Marvel comics superhero team of the same name and is intended as the follow-up to 2012’s ‘The Avengers’ and 2015’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.
The first ‘Avengers’ films ranks fifth for the highest-grossing film releases of all time, earning $1.52 billion worldwide against a production budget of $220 million. ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ follows in the seventh spot with $1.41 billion.
