Baidu Inc. and Lenovo Group Limited have teamed up to integrate artificial intelligence technology. It was reported that the former will integrate its Ernie AI into Lenovo-branded mobile phones.
Expansion of Partnership for AI Technology
The latest agreement is an expansion since Baidu and Lenovo have already worked together on many projects before. For their new deal, the companies will join the increasing trend of integrating artificial intelligence features on mobile devices such as smartphones, as per BNN Breaking.
This strategic move is expected to push Baidu and Lenovo to the forefront of AI-enabled mobile devices in the Chinese market. The agreement will see Baidu’s Ernie chabot or large language model (LLM) added to Lenovo smartphones.
At any rate, as AI integration in smartphones is becoming common today, Baidu and Lenovo are bound to redefine the mobile technology environment in the country. Their cooperation shows that their agreement is not simply a business deal but a reflection of their commitment to going over the boundaries to see what is possible with artificial intelligence technology.
Lenovo Appoints Former Intel Executive as PC Business Head
Meanwhile, Lenovo also announced this week that it has hired Steve Long, an Intel veteran, to lead its commercial PC unit. The company wants to retain its top rank in the global PC market.
According to CRN, the role given to the former Intel executive at its commercial PC and smart device division is a newly created post. Lenovo hopes that Long will help the brand become a major player in the AI computing scene through its hybrid AI strategy, which covers every aspect of technology - from PCs to data center infrastructure. At any rate, Long’s appointment is set to take effect on Feb. 26.
