Back at E3 2018, many surprising announcements were made, including the fact that a “Battlefield V” battle royale mode was in the works. While this likely has a lot to do with the unprecedented success that “PUBG” and “Fortnite Battle Royale” has seen, not much is known about what "Battlefield’s" own offering would look like. What gamers might want to keep in mind, however, is that it might perform better on AMD GPUs than on Nvidia’s cards.
The announcement of the “Battlefield V” Battle Royale mode seemed suspiciously rushed, PC Gamer notes, which sparked fears that it was simply a last-minute addition to the game. If it was, it doesn’t bode well for fans of both the “Battlefield” franchise and battle royale games.
This is why the publication posted its own expectations of the offering, along with what it would like to have included in the mode. For starters, players are likely to be dropped from the sky towards the play area, just like in other battle royale titles. This has proven to be an effective system, so why fix something that’s not even broken?
It’s also likely that a squad mode will be available since teammates have apparently been shown to revive others without needing to be a medic. Scrounging supplies will apparently play a big role as well since it seems players will start out with limited ammo. This is actually where “Battlefield V” battle royale might differ from other titles since participants will be armed from the get-go.
In any case, gamers who will be playing the game on the PC might want to take note that an AMD Radeon card might be to their advantage. Apparently, AMD thrashed Nvidia in a recent “Battlefield V” benchmark, Forbes reports.
The publication is referring to the test performed by PCGamesN, where AMD was apparently the winner during a closed alpha. This is going to be important to a lot of gamers since “Battlefield V” battle royale is likely to be in FPS mode. As such, the better it runs, the higher the chance of victory.
