Chicken sandwich enthusiasts are set to have a memorable September with the return of Birdcall’s widely celebrated menu item.

While chicken sandwiches are a staple across many restaurants, only a select few leave a lasting impression. Birdcall is one of those restaurants. Last year, it garnered attention for its crispy chicken sandwich, which received an outpouring of support. After a brief hiatus, this beloved sandwich returns, offering the same sweet heat that fans crave.

By popular demand, Birdcall's "Bees Knees" sandwich is back and will be available throughout September at all Birdcall locations in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. According to Fast Food Club, this limited-time offering features the signature crispy, all-natural chicken paired with Mike's Hot Honey, pure honey infused with chilies, Calabrian chili aioli, and shredded romaine, all nestled in a brioche bun.

Amador Acosta, Birdcall’s Vice President for Culinary Innovation, noted the overwhelming response to the “Bees Knees” last year. He recalled that after tasting Birdcall’s chicken with Mike’s Hot Honey, it was clear they needed a unique recipe for this combination, leading to the creation of the “Bees Knees.” Mike Kurtz, founder of Mike’s Hot Honey, shared his enthusiasm for the second collaboration with Birdcall. He stated that the two brands delivered an exceptional sandwich last time and are set to do it again this September.

The "Bees Knees" is also part of "Birdcall Presents," a monthly program featuring a limited-edition sandwich that supports non-profit organizations. For every "Bees Knees" sandwich sold, $1 will be donated to The Bee Conservancy, an organization dedicated to protecting bees. As guests enjoy this fan-favorite, they will also contribute to a positive impact on local communities.

Like other Birdcall sandwiches, the “Bees Knees” can be customized to suit various dietary preferences, ensuring fresh, made-to-order meals.

Birdcall continues demonstrating its commitment to its customers, one chicken sandwich at a time. With the tagline “Do Good by Eating Well,” the brand encourages guests to enjoy their chicken sandwiches in a personalized way. Beyond crafting award-winning recipes, Birdcall aims to redefine the ordering and dining experience.

The restaurant has developed a proprietary ordering system, allowing customers to customize their meals fully. For a gluten-free option, guests can choose grilled chicken instead of crispy chicken or the Eat Meati cutlet for a vegetarian version. They can even substitute a lettuce wrap or gluten-free bun to tailor their sandwich to their preferences.

For years, restaurants have aimed to extend their purpose beyond serving good food. Birdcall and other brands remind us that giving back to the community is another avenue for making a positive impact. Here are some other food brands that are giving back through their latest offerings:

  • Wendy’s $1 Boo! Books: In celebration of Halloween, Wendy’s offers a coupon book containing five free Jr. Frosty treats and a free kid’s meal coupon. Proceeds from these books will go to the Dave Thomas Foundation, which helps foster children find loving homes. The Boo! Books launch coincides with the release of Wendy’s new Frosty Frights kid’s meal collection.

Golden Chick’s Churros for a Cause: Golden Chick is launching a charity initiative to support local schools by introducing their new churro. Guests can purchase two churros for $2, with 50 cents from each sale directly benefiting schools and teachers in the community.
