The lack of update about the release of “Black Clover” episode 133 seem to dismiss expectations for the anime series to return this month. Another potential clue also recently emerged suggesting that the show’s hiatus might not wrap up until July.
‘Black Clover’ episode 133 might not air until July
The return of “Black Clover” is likely one of the most anticipated announcements in the anime community right now for several reasons. The most obvious being it has been more than a month since the latest new episode came out. The sudden hiatus also left the series hanging in quite an awkward timing.
Several clues previously suggested a return in mid-June was possible. However, the first week of the month is already over and an update on the “Black Clover” episode 133’s release date remains elusive. Even known anime sources like Spytrue revealed last week that there is “nothing” to report yet if the series is going to return in June.
Nothing about BLACK CLOVER return this month yet.

Meanwhile, a fan replying to Spytrue’s tweet offered a potential clue that “Black Clover” episode 133’s release might have been moved to July. It is mainly based on the delayed release of Kaf’s CD that contains the ending theme used on the anime since episode 129. The fan pointed out that the CD’s release date had been moved from June to July 22, thus, suggesting it could be an indication of “Black Clover’s” return as well.
On the other hand, delay in Kaf’s CD might have also been purely caused by logistical issues due to coronavirus and not entirely due to the anime’s postponement. Not hearing anything about “Black Clover” episode 133’s release date at this rate is quite a telling sign that the chance for the anime to return in June is getting scant.
Why was the anime postponed
“Black Clover” episode 133 was one of the many episodes postponed since a state of emergency was enforced in Japan due to the COVID-19 pandemic. TV networks temporarily halted regular broadcast schedules while studios suspend productions.
In May, “Black Clover” re-runs were reported to have only been scheduled until June 9. This has led to speculations that “Black Clover” episode 133 could be released as early as June 16. But now that it is just a week away without updates on its return, the rumored release date seems more unlikely.
