Since singer/actress Miley Cyrus started hinting that she was about to do an exciting project, it was taken by many as a fact that she will be in “Black Mirror” Season 5. However, for all intents and purposes, this particular detail is still just a rumor since nothing official has been confirmed. What’s more, the upcoming season might just give fans one day to prepare for its premiere, with the celebrity’s casting or non-casting being confirmed then.
As CNET reports, if Miley Cyrus does end up being cast to star in an episode of “Black Mirror” Season 5, she would be joining a stellar lineup of actors to have already done so. Among them are “Man Men’s” John Ham, “Jurassic World’s” Bryce Dallas Howard, and “Captain America: The First Avenger’s” Hayley Atwell.
The matter of the pop star being featured in “Black Mirror” Season 5 for one episode came about during her appearance in “The Howard Stern Show” a few months ago. Since then, speculations with regards to what role she would play have been flying all over the web. Considering the nature of the show, however, this is quite a pointless endeavor.
Attempting to guess what “Black Mirror” Season 5 episodes will be about is a fruitless task in every way. To start with, there is no continuity to base on. Not only will every episode be different from one another, but each season is also entirely disconnected, as well. As such, the role that Miley Cyrus would play if her casting is real will remain a mystery until the season premieres.
As to when “Black Mirror” Season 5 will actually be released, there are only just rumors about this, for now. However, a 2019 surprise premiere is not completely impossible. If not then, early 2020 is the best bet, which isn’t that bad.
