BlendJet, a well-known manufacturer of portable blenders, has announced a significant recall of its BlendJet 2 blenders.
The recall comes in response to safety concerns surrounding overheating issues, which have reportedly led to property damage, injuries, and even house fires. With nearly 5 million units affected, this recall highlights the importance of consumer safety and product quality. BlendJet is taking proactive measures to address the issue and ensure customer satisfaction.
Massive Recall Due to Overheating Concerns
According to USA Today, BlendJet has decided to recall nearly 5 million BlendJet 2 blenders due to safety concerns. The recall was prompted by reports of property damage, injuries caused by the blenders overheating, and instances of blade breakage during use, resulting in laceration injuries.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has received 329 complaints related to these issues.
BlendJet 2 blenders, subject to the recall, were sold in various colors and designs between October 2020 and November 2023, as reported by USA Today. The affected blenders were available for purchase at popular retailers such as Costco, Walmart, and Target and through BlendJet's official website.
Consumers can identify the recalled blenders by checking the serial number at the bottom of the base. If the first four digits of the serial number fall within the range of 5201-5542, the product may be subject to recall.
Free Replacements and How to Obtain Them
As mentioned in the KHON2 report, BlendJet offers free replacements for all affected BlendJet 2 blenders. To claim a replacement, customers must remove and cut the rubber seal from the blender's base into over three pieces. They must provide photographic evidence of the destroyed rubber seal and the blender's serial number.
The replacement process can be completed through BlendJet's official website at blendjet.com/safetyandrecall or by emailing the proof of the destroyed rubber seal and serial number to [email protected].
BlendJet's massive recall of nearly 5 million BlendJet 2 portable blenders emphasizes the company's commitment to consumer safety. The recall responds to safety concerns related to overheating issues, blade breakage, and injuries.
Consumers are strongly advised to check if their BlendJet 2 blenders are included in the recall and take advantage of the free replacement program offered by BlendJet.
