Boeing dismissed 65 workers for their discriminatory behavior, racism, and overall hateful conduct. 53 other individuals managed to keep their jobs, but they were said to have been subjected to some sort of disciplinary action from the company.

As per The New York Post, Boeing released a report last weekend and shared that it took action against employees with issues on their conduct around the workplace. It was specified that most of the cases are related to racism.
“As we have witnessed horrific images in the news and heard heartbreaking stories from our people, our determination to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion has only become stronger,” Boeing chief executive officer, Dave Calhoun, said in a statement that was shared with the company employees. “It is clear we have an opportunity to be a force for change within our walls and in our communities, and we are taking an important step forward today."
He went on to say that there is no place for hate in Boeing, and the company will keep expecting its employees to be the best that they can be when interacting with one another.
Boeing’s disciplinary actions were said to be part of the firm’s “diversity equity plan” after it created its Diversity Equity Task Force last year. The aim for the formation of such a group is to implement zero tolerance for discrimination that was set off by George Floyd’s death in May 2020.
Based on the data that was released, Boeing already let off 65 employees since the new workers’ policy on conduct was imposed. It has also disciplined 53 others over their behavior that was said to be racist, hateful, and discriminatory.

It was reported that Boeing’s new policy was made with the aim of increasing the number of Black workers at the company by as much as 20%. Currently, its Black employees only account for 6.4% of its staffers.
Finally, Fox Business further reported that Boeing’s disclosure about this matter comes after the investors place more pressure on companies to do something about racism and improve their hiring practices.
