Thanks to the news that the PC version of “Borderlands 3” would be exclusive to the Epic Game Store, many outraged gamers decided to turn to one of their most popular weapons; review bombing. The Steam pages of the previous games in the franchise suddenly started getting plenty of negative review scores. However, this did not appear to have the effect that the players wanted since the CEO of Gearbox is now even more relieved that the game is coming to Epic’s store.
As GamesRadar reports, Randy Pitchford recently took to Twitter to address the matter of previous “Borderlands” games getting pummeled with negative reviews. It’s worth pointing out that these reviews have nothing to do with the games featured on the Steam pages themselves. Rather, they are entirely because of the decision that “Borderlands 3” would not be on the platform for some time.
Ironically, that this misuse is possible and that Steam has no interest in correcting this misuse makes me kind of happy about 2k’s decision and makes me want to reconsider Gearbox Publishing’s current posture on the platform.

“Ironically, that this misuse is possible and that Steam has no interest in correcting this misuse makes me kind of happy about 2k’s decision and makes me want to reconsider Gearbox Publishing’s current posture on the platform,” the Tweet reads.
For some context into this story, it was basically announced that “Borderlands 3” would only be available on the Epic Games Store for a limited period of time for the PC version of the game. This means that those with Steam accounts will not be getting the game when it is released and will have to wait.
If they want to get the game upon release, gamers will need to create an account over at the Epic store and buy it from there. However, a lot of them don’t want to have to do this and so are taking out their frustration on other “Borderlands” games instead. They will not be able to do this on the Epic Games Store and this is why Pitchford is happy with the arrangement.
