It would appear that the animators behind “Boruto” are priding themselves of providing subpar stories, animation, and pacing these days. This will become especially true with the upcoming “Boruto” Episode 106 since, even though it is technically canon, it will still be incredibly boring. It will basically act as a character study of Mirai who should have been a fascinating personality but only ends up being annoying.
“Boruto” Episode 106 will basically involve a mission granted by Naruto to Mirai, and the goal is to act as a bodyguard to Kakashi and Guy, OtakuKart reports. Since this particular responsibility was personally appointed by the Hokage, the character reasonably assumed that it is going to an important one. In fact, the preview clip below suggests that Mirai believes this to be an S-rank mission.
As for the specifics on what it will actually be about, “Boruto” Episode 106 will be a journey for the two heroes of Konoha to go to a hot spring. Mirai assumes that it will simply be a deception and that there is actually a deeper meaning to the mission. Perhaps it will be or perhaps it won’t. However, it’s quite likely that this is just going to be a way to kill time until the story returns to the more interesting parts of the story.
There is no telling how many episodes beyond “Boruto” Episode 106 will be covered by the scope of this new arc. Considering that it is based on a canon novel, it will likely get at least three. So fans might want to get ready for another three weeks of agonizing indulgence into ridiculous plots and boring characters.
Then again, some reactions to Mirai getting some attention in “Boruto” Episode 106 indicate that there are those looking forward to this development. Only time will tell if it is actually worth it when the episode airs on May 12.
