“Bosch” Season 5 will be launching on April 19 and will have the titular detective go undercover to infiltrate a growing drug cartel. This is unchartered territory for Harry (Titus Welliver) as he’s never been one to conduct covert operation since he’s a homicide detective, EW reported.
Welliver has hinted that “Bosch” Season 5 will be a tension-filled story to follow as Harry will be put in a dangerous situation with no backup to aid him. Even Edgar (Jamie Hector) – who has always been there to watch his partner’s six – will be absent during this off-the-books operation. The actor also said that Harry will be put with some pretty sadistic people at some point during the fifth installment.
Aside from this thrilling plot, “Bosch” Season 5 will also be dealing with a legal case that will endanger Harry’s career. Welliver provided some hint as to what fans can expect in this plotline during his interview with EW.
“Bosch knows this guy to be bad, but of course in our universe, nothing is ever quite as it seems. If some sort of malfeasance or corruption is discovered and falls at his feet, ultimately, many, many convictions of cases that he’s worked could be overturned or reopened.” To help him maneuver these accusations, “Bosch” Season 5 will have Harry ask the help of attorney Chandlers (Mimi Rogers).
Chandlers will also be employing the expertise of Hector Bonner (Ryan Hurst), a private investigator who’s been a client of the lawyer in the past. And amidst all of these complications is the relationship of Harry with his daughter. In the wake of his wife’s passing, it’s expected that “Bosch” Season 5 will strengthen the bond of Harry and Maddie (Madison Lintz).
This, too, is unchartered territory for the detective as he’s now going to be a full-time parent. The trailer for “Bosch” Season 5 has already highlighted this fact when Maddie told Harry to take care of himself. “Don’t do anything stupid. You’re all I have left,” the young woman warned her father.
