MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 22, 2017 -- Qeexo, developer of lightweight machine learning solutions for mobile and IoT, today named Bosch Sensortec a preferred accelerometer provider for FingerSense, the company's user interaction platform for smartphones. Bosch Sensortec is a leading supplier of MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) sensors and solutions tailored for smartphones, tablets, wearable devices and IoT applications. Bosch Sensortec will work closely with Qeexo to support the fast adoption of FingerSense technology by smartphone handset manufacturers by offering FingerSense technology to its customers.
"With integrations in tens of millions of smartphones worldwide by leading manufacturers such as Huawei, Qeexo’s technology is quickly winning Android market share and becoming the standard in touch technology,” said Sang Won Lee, CEO of Qeexo. “Bosch Sensortec has helped fuel our growth by providing cutting-edge sensors and world-class support to us and our joint customers. This collaboration with Bosch Sensortec opens doors for future large-scale integrations by making it much easier for handset manufacturers to deploy our technology.”
FingerSense is the next generation touch platform from Qeexo and the world's first software-only solution that can distinguish between touchscreen inputs such as fingertip, knuckle, nail, and stylus. With FingerSense, smartphone OEMs can offer a range of new capabilities to delight users and make it easier for them to perform smartphone tasks. Using simple gestures, FingerSense enables: enhanced screenshot capabilities, more robust live screen-recording tools, and quick-launch of applications via letter gestures.
“Bosch Sensortec is honored to collaborate with Qeexo as a preferred accelerometer supplier for FingerSense,” said Marcellino Gemelli, Director Business Development of Bosch Sensortec. “This solution highlights innovative ways of enabling new functionalities. Our high performance, low noise sensors together with Qeexo’s algorithms create a ‘tangible’ user experience allowing our joint customers to uniquely differentiate their products.”
Bosch Sensortec recently announced a new family of MEMS acceleration sensors for wearable devices, offering high performance and ease of integration in compact packages. The new BMA456 and BMA423 provide a complementary alternative to Bosch’s existing sensors for wearables and smartphones. For example, the BMI160 and BMA455 contains ultra-small acceleration sensors with integrated Android features designed for low-power smartphone applications.
