Burger King surprises Japanese foodies with its innovative Tsukimi Burger, featuring a unique pineapple ingredient instead of the traditional egg. The new line includes Teriyaki Pine and Chipotle Pine variations.
"Tsukimi," meaning "moon-viewing," is typically associated with dishes featuring eggs. However, Burger King has decided to put its twist on this tradition.
Rather than incorporating eggs, the Tsukimi Burger showcases a surprising ingredient that mimics the golden hue of the moon. Breaking free from the norm, Burger King has opted for none other than pineapple. Yes, you read that right. Pineapple is the star of these two new burger offerings.
The first burger in the lineup is the Teriyaki Pine Tsukimi Burger. It offers a unique fusion of flavors with a thick slice of pineapple, a juicy beef patty, smoky bacon, and an original teriyaki sauce.
The sauce features hints of charred green onions and red miso, imparting a delightful smoky and slightly sweet taste. The Teriyaki Pine Tsukimi Burger promises a burst of refreshing flavors that complement one another.
The Chipotle Pine Tsukimi Burger is the way for those seeking a spicy kick. This variation introduces a special smoky chipotle sauce known for its aged flavor and spiciness. The mouthwatering combination of the chipotle sauce, lettuce, and creamy mayonnaise creates a harmonious blend of taste sensations.
With the Tsukimi Burger, Burger King aims to provide an alternative option for those who aren't fans of fried eggs. The umami-rich grilled beef, paired with the sweetness and tartness of pineapple, presents a compelling flavor combination that will satisfy any appetite.
Fans of this unique burger can rejoice, as it is now available at Burger King branches across Japan. The price per Tsukimi Burger is 540 yen, or customers can opt for a set, which includes fries and a drink, priced at 840 yen.
