Burger King is ready for the spookiest time of the year with the return of its Ghost Pepper Whopper in time for Halloween. To mark the upcoming holiday that is celebrated every year on October 31st, the home of the flame-grilled Whopper sandwich is launching two menu additions.
Burger King said that starting Oct. 12, customers may get the all-new Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries and its returning Ghost Pepper Whopper from select locations. The fast food chain is also rolling out these new food items just a day before the spooky Friday the 13th.
The Ghostly Trick or Treat Meals at BK
As per Mashed, Burger King is releasing these new additions in time for Halloween, and as mentioned, the menus have been aptly named for the occasion. The Trick or Heat meal consists of a Ghost Pepper Whopper and a 4-piece Ghost Pepper Chicken Fry.
It is also served with small-sized French fries, a drink, and Hershey Sundae Pie. All of these are included for just $13. While the items are dropping on the 12th, the meal is offered starting Oct. 13.
Customers may order this special meal package through Burger King’s app or website. This is available until the end of October only at some store outlets in the United States.
The New Chicken Fries Variant
While the Ghost Pepper Whopper is already a favorite seasonal menu in the Burger King chain of restaurants, the Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries is making its appearance for the first time. The side dish has other variants, but this is the first time BK has combined it with ghost peppers.
This side is served in four, eight, and 12-piece pack options. This is usually part of the meal bundle, but diners may also buy them separately and come with a choice of dipping sauce.
“Earlier this year, we asked Guests if we should bring back the Ghost Pepper Whopper or introduce Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries,” Burger King North America’s chief marketing officer, Pat O’Toole, said in a press release. “The results were split, so we’re adding both products to our menus nationwide* this Halloween season, giving Guests multiple ways to enjoy the perfect combination of flavor and heat.”
The CMO went on to say, “We are excited for fans to have a new way to enjoy our signature Chicken Fries and bring back the Ghost Pepper Whopper with an eye-catching orange bun achieved with the use of paprika, showing that spooktacular innovations don’t mean you have to sacrifice quality or flavor.”
