Burger King in Argentina is now serving an unexpected item in its stores. The popular burger joint has started selling beer in its 36 out of 114 restaurant outlets in the country.
The local media outlet ANDigital reported that Burger King Argentian teamed up again with Budweiser to offer beer to its adult customers. It was mentioned that it is one of the alcoholic brands listed in the Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes's portfolio; thus, BK chose the American-style pale lager produced by Anheuser-Busch.
This is the first time that Burger King is adding an alcoholic beverage to its drinks list on the menu. Since the fast-food chain landed in Argentina in 1986, this is the only time that it is selling a beer in its stores.
The availability of the Budweiser beer at Burger King Argentina outlets was first announced late last week. The company released a promo that says customers can now "enjoy ice-cold lager beer in a 410 cc can format."
It was mentioned that the addition of beer is one way that Burger King in Argentina is trying to appeal to the public, especially the younger customers. But of course, the alcoholic beverage is only served to people who are 18 years old and above.
"We start the year with this announcement to entertain our visitors," Burger King Argentina's marketing director, Nicolás Iribarne, said in a statement. "Beer is a great companion to hamburgers, it is a classic match. The objective is to generate the best enjoyment experience for our fans."

For their part, Budweiser Argentina's director, Juan Giovanelli, also told the Clarín newspaper, "We seek to explore new consumption opportunities and together with renowned partners, offering innovative proposals based on consumer preferences. This is the first time that Budweiser has been present in American food stores at a national level."
Finally, El Cronista Negocios reported that despite the fact that the beer is new at Burger King Argentia, there are already fast-food chains that sell beer. It should be noted that customers can buy any meal, and there is no additional pay for the beer. This is because a customer can simply choose to replace their soda drinks with beer for every order of the store's meal combos.
