Burger King is set to launch its new chicken sandwich next month, and it was reported that this will also make the restaurant join in the chicken wars. It will be competing with major players that include KFC, McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A and Popeyes.
BK’s Ch’King is ready to battle with the leading chicken sandwiches
Burger King named its newest chicken sandwich “Ch’King” and it will be here in two weeks' time from now. Its entrance to the market just made the chicken sandwich business more crowded but it is alright for the customers since they will have more options.
Ellie Doty, the chief marketing officer for BK North America, told CNN Business that the company worked to develop its sandwich for around two years before releasing it to the market. And prior to its launch, Burger King also renamed its chicken sandwich so customers can easily distinguish the menu since there are lots of sandwiches with similar names out there.
As mentioned before, the fast-food chain is calling its own hand-breaded crispy chicken sandwich Ch'King. It was in February this year when BK first launched its new sandwich and since then, it has been introducing the sandwich across the states. Ch’King usually comes with sauce and pickles in a potato bun.
The difference between the previous sandwich and the new Ch’King
It was said that as Popeyes’ chicken sandwich became a super hit menu when it was launched in 2019, fast-food chains have been including their own versions of the sandwich into the menu.
Some brands are reinventing their chicken sandwich and releasing them again as something new. As days pass by, the competition in the chicken sandwich heats up and now they are battling for supremacy. Burger King’s Ch’King is a bit different from the other stores and the company is confident, it offers the best kind.
“Our guests said it best, our hand-breaded Ch’King sandwich is our greatest yet,” Ellie Doty, BK North America chief marketing officer, said in a press release. “We said we would create a delicious hand-breaded chicken sandwich that was worth the wait, we just didn’t anticipate that it would turn out quite this good.”
Burger King is releasing Ch’King nationwide on June 3 and it comes with a special offer until June 20. In this limited period, those who will order through BK’s website or app will also receive a free Whopper. Depending on the location, the sandwich cost between $3.99 and $4.99.
