Fans want the “Classroom of the Elite” season 2 right now. They are almost demanding already because the last season aired in 2017, which means the viewers of the series have been waiting for more than two years now and going three in a few months this year.
“Classroom of the Elite” or “Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijō Shugi no Kyōshitsu” is the animated adaptation of the light novel series of the same title that was released in 2015. It was produced by Lerche studio and premiered in July 2017 on AT-X and other Japanese broadcasting networks.
Will it be renewed?
As mentioned earlier, “Classroom of the Elite” season 2 is on hiatus for quite a long time now, and because of that, there are people who are starting to believe that the anime has been canceled. Then again, since there is no notification from Lerche, this should be considered as a rumor that can’t be confirmed yet.
TV Season & Spoilers noted that “Classroom of the Elite” is popular worldwide, so it is hard to think that Lerche is discontinuing the show. And since what they are doing is business, they will surely renew it since it could churn out big profits for the company.
More reasons to renew the anime
“Classroom of the Elite” season 2 renewal announcement is taking a long time, but followers of the show believe it will still arrive. They reasoned that the light novel series has many more volumes that could be translated into animation.
In fact, the premiere season only used three volumes to produce 12 episodes. Currently, the LN has 14 volumes, which is a lot to make more episodes for the anime series.
Then again, despite the list of reasons why “Classroom of the Elite” season 2 could be renewed, some people were also able to point out why there is also a slight chance that it will not arrive anymore. They said that the reason they created the first season was to promote the light novel series and since, it has already served its purpose and help the sales of the manga, a second installment is no longer needed.
At any rate, since “Classroom of the Elite” season 2 is not yet confirmed, so its release date is not available. However, Akanagi predicted that it would be out before this year ends.
