Coca-Cola Korea Company said on Thursday, Jan. 12, that it has appointed its new chief executive officer. The beverage company named Jung Ki Sung as its CEO.
As per The Korea Herald, Jung was promoted to lead Coca-Cola Korea due to his extensive experience in the business and within the company itself. In fact, the company said the new chief has made a big contribution to growing its business.
"It is very honorable to be appointed as the CEO of Coca-Cola Korea Company,” Jung said in a statement. “I plan to strengthen the firm's status as a comprehensive beverage company by expanding its business portfolios according to fast-changing consumption trends and sustainable growth strategy."
His track record at Coca-Cola Korea is very impressive as well. Since he started to work at Coca-Cola Korea in 2000, he has held various positions and has shown exceptional performance every time. With his good work ethic and dedication, he has helped grow the company into what it is today.
Moreover, in more than two decades with Coca-Cola Korea, he became its senior budget manager from 2000 to 2008 and then moved to Coca-Cola Thailand to serve as its chief financial officer for two years. In 2010, he moved back to South Korea and worked as CFO. After more than two decades, his time to lead the company has come as his promotion to the CEO role was announced this year.
Meanwhile, his appointment comes after it was reported last month that Coca-Cola Korea is raising its prices again this month. It was said that the cost of the brand’s beverage products at the convenience stores would increase some time this month.
“The rise of the price of plastic bottles, aluminum and sugar due to global inflation led to the rise of price in convenience stores,” Coca-Cola Korea’s spokesperson said. “We have tried, as best as we can, to reduce the rate of increase for the products.”
