Tesla has drastically cut its Cybertruck wrap offerings, reducing available colors to just three. This move narrows customization options for buyers of the highly anticipated electric truck, with remaining wraps available only at select service centers.
Tesla Slashes Cybertruck Wrap Options to Three
According to Electrek, Tesla is reportedly reducing the number of options and availability for its Cybertruck wrapping business.
Prior to the release of the electric pickup truck, Tesla introduced its own wrapping service at certain service sites; nevertheless, the Cybertruck is only available in a natural stainless steel finish.
The timing was ideal for Cybertruck, which can be wrapped to have many colors, but it started with Model 3 and Model Y.
Cybertruck Wrapping Started With Two Colors
In the beginning, Tesla only offered Cybertruck covers in two colors; later, that number was increased to eleven.
Several service centers in Texas and California were the only ones that provided the service.
Now there are only three Cybertruck wrap colors available, thanks to a change to Tesla's web store.
Wrap Services Limited to Select California Locations
It is worth noting that Tesla has removed all Texas locations from their film submission list. At this time, the manufacturer has limited the service shops that can apply Cybertruck covers to those in Santa Clara, West Covina, Oceanside, and Costa Mesa, California.
All of the same applies to wraps for the Model 3 and Model Y, although there are still additional color options available for those.
Tesla's rationale for eliminating such a significant number of color options is uncertain, as per Drive Tesla. It could be a short-lived change caused by a shortage of stock or simply because those colors weren't popular enough to warrant continuing to use them.
Price of Cybertruck Wraps Starts at $6,000
You may still get the Cybertruck in Satin Rose Gold, Satin Stealth Black, or Satin Ceramic White for US$6,000 or US$6,500, respectively, for the PPF colors that are available.
