Late last week, the Merc with a Mouth returns with a new trailer, reportedly believed to be a sequel to “Deadpool,” Entertainment Weekly reported.
The trailer, titled “No Good Deed,” was a NSFW scene wherein a hooded, still disfigured Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is seen strolling down a street, and even passing a rundown movie theater showing Wolverine’s last silver screen hurrah, “Logan.” He then overhears and spotted a mugging in progress at an alleyway just outside the movie theater, with Wilson deciding to help by changing into his Deadpool costume at a nearby booth like Superman. Superman’s theme song is also playing in the background. By the time he finishes changing, the old man is dead and bloodied on the sidewalk.
However, “Deadpool” writer Rhett Reese has long disputed also on Twitter that the “No Good Deed” video isn’t the trailer we should be expecting for the film’s sequel, the Guardian reported. Reese also said that as much as people would have wanted too, none of the video will appear in the sequel, either.
The trailer has ramped up rumors of an impending sequel happening, with former Marvel illustrator and Image Comics founder Rob Liefield (who also created Deadpool), spoke on Twitter a few days ago about making “Deadpool 2” happen. Den of Geek noted that Liefield tweeted Russell Crowe that he "should read for Cable,” an X-Men character long touted to be the next superhero appearing in the “Deadpool” sequel. The exchange led to involving Reynolds himself in the Twitter convo, and with Crowe toying with some fanart ideas.
