Suri Cruise and her dad Tom Cruise have been estranged for many years. They have not seen each other since the “Mission Impossible” actor, and Katie Holmes ended their marriage in 2012.
Since their separation, it has been reported countless times that the father and daughter can’t meet because of Tom’s religion supposedly doesn’t allow non-Scientologist to be associated with its members. It was even said that the actor is planning to recruit his daughter, and his church also likes the idea. But then, it is believed that Tom and Suri Cruise didn’t even communicate since Katie left the former.
Did the father and daughter meet up for the holidays?
It was reported that Tom and Suri got the chance to be together last month for the holidays.
New Zealand’s Woman’s Day reported that the actor had wanted some visitation rights for so long now, and he brought his request to the court.
“Tom’s been fighting for visitation rights for a long time and has finally won his battle to have Suri for Christmas,” the source allegedly told the magazine. It was claimed that the court-ordered Katie to send Suri to her dad in California so they can reunite and spend the holidays together.
Holmes has full custody of Suri, so Tom needs to go to the court for an arrangement to see his daughter. It was suggested that as a condition for the father and daughter meet up, the 57-year-old promised to respect Katie’s wish of not pushing Scientology to their daughter. A source said that Tom would not dare break this promise, or he will risk his chance to see Suri again in the future.
Tom contacted Katie first
The Star magazine further reported that Tom Cruise also reached out to Katie Holmes to make a request to see his daughter, who he hadn’t seen for years. An insider said that the “Dawson’s Creek” star was speechless after getting the message that was left “with her people.”
The father and daughter’s reunion
Tom and Suri Cruise finally reunite, but it was said to be an awkward moment. This is because the actor was not prepared to meet the older version of his daughter, whom he last saw when she was only five or six years old. She is not a baby anymore, and he was not sure how to approach her, but the reunion was reportedly emotional.
It was a good story of their reunion, but Gossip Cop found out that the meet up did not happen. The fact-checking site contacted Katie Holmes’ representative for comments and was told that the reports were “lies.”
