As part of its EMV upgrade, Divine’s is leveraging Applause TV at the dispenser to draw more customers into the store. When discussing the EMV conversion, Jim Redmon, Divine’s CEO, stated that increased store traffic and fraud mitigation are primary reasons for proceeding with the transition now, despite the extended EMV deadline. “We are pleased to be one step closer to completing our EMV upgrades and look forward to bringing the Applause TV forecourt media technology across all of our locations,” said Redmon. “It will certainly boost our business inside the store. We also look forward to turning on EMV as soon as possible to protect our customers and ourselves from fraud liability.”
Jointly developed with Verifone, a world leader in payments and commerce solutions, FlexPay IV from Gilbarco is the first PCI PTS 4.x certified fuel-dispenser payment terminal in the U.S. It supports EMV, NFC, mobile wallets, encryption, 2D barcode scanning, as well as future regulatory changes.
Gilbarco’s VP of Marketing for North America, Mark Williams, said, “Divine’s is another example of a leading retailer recognizing the need to continue moving forward with its EMV upgrades. We continue to see retailers understand that their customers are beginning to expect the ability to pay with their EMV chip card. Many of these retailers also understand they can leverage their EMV upgrades to drive their business forward, whether with media solutions like Applause TV, remote monitoring and management capabilities with Insite360, or mobile payment acceptance via contactless readers.”
Founded in 1956, Divine’s is a family-owned business, with locations across the greater Spokane and Spokane Valley areas. For more information about the Fundamentals of EMV, please go to http://www.gilbarco.com/us/learning-center/emv-c-store-retailers.
