Actor Peter Capaldi, who currently plays the 12th Doctor in the BBC series “Doctor Who” seems to be privy to a lot of things for the next season.
In a recent guesting at “The Graham Norton Show,” Capaldi talked about certain details of his final season with “Doctor Who,” Yahoo TV said. Capaldi is expected to step down by Season 10 finale.
When asked why he decided to leave the long-running sci-fi franchise, he said, “I just thought, you know, while you’re enjoying it, leave. It’s bye bye. “Doctor Who” is a great job but it is TV factory with so many episodes and I would worry that I wouldn't do my best work with the same vigour and fun. I've left it while I am still enjoying it. Three years is probably enough because people get wiped out by it."
Capaldi’s exit would definitely mean the death of his character in Season 10. As he also confirmed that he has wrapped up filming his death scene, Digital Spy noted that as the show’s Christmas special has yet to be filmed, it is possible that Capaldi’s time in “Doctor Who” would probably be sooner than later.
On another note, Mirror UK said Capaldi’s revelation about the death scene could only mean one thing: he already knows who the new doctor is who will be taking the iconic role.
“Doctor Who” Season 10 returns tonight on BBC. Capaldi will grace the small screen as the 12th Doctor alongside Pearl Mackie as his new companion.
