“Doctor Who” season 11 is still in production but it appears that fans will not be as surprised anymore when it finally airs. This is because the show has been beset with illegal leaks and the people behind the drama are surely not pleased.
Just in July alone, pictures of “Doctor Who” season 11 were accidentally released by Ben Blackall, a stills photographer. He uploaded a dozen promotional pictures on his website and realized his mistake too late for many people already grabbed copies of the images and they were spread.
Not long after, another leaked item found its way to the web and this time it was a footage featuring Jodie Whittaker. The leaked clip divulged the fact that Jodie has been designated as the new doctor in “Doctor Who” season 11.
Now, the latest leak involves pictures of the TARDIS console room, drama scenes, and unannounced guest stars, so it was devastating for everyone.
As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, the pictures were shared on social media and they quickly made the rounds. With what happened, the production designer for “Doctor Who” season 11 could not help but express his frustration.
Arwel Jones let out his anger via an update on social media. On Aug. 9, he tweeted, “Just found out that there's a leaked photo of the Tardis interior, that alone makes me livid!” He further vented his ire by saying, “The fact that it's a dreadful photo, taken by someone with no hint of artistry & unlit makes me absolutely effing incandescent with rage!”
BBC Studios is currently trying to track down the leaker. It is serious in finding the source, starting with Jodie Whittaker’s footage.
At any rate, “Doctor Who” season 11 wrapped up filming just last week. Radio Times shared that although BBC previously stated that “Doctor Who” season 11 is returning between Sept. 23 and Dec. 21, a recent interview revealed that the premiere date has been reset to October.
