An adhesive bandage covering a dot of blood on U.S. President Donald Trump’s right hand earlier this week stirred speculations about his health. But the White House immediately issued a statement telling the public there is nothing to worry about the POTUS.
Over the last weekend, a photo shared by Fox News host Sean Hannity showed Trump wearing the said bandage on his right hand. A closer look to the photo would show the bandage covering a red-colored smear that was presumably blood. During Trump’s travel to Texas earlier this week, people noticed the President was still sporting a bandage on the same hand.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders later clarified there is no issue concerning Trump’s health. Sanders told Politico, “The President was having fun and joking around with his son Barron and scratched his hand.”
However, that was not enough to appease the Twitter world. Several netizens insisted they used to wear a bandage on the same exact placement as seen on Trump’s hand for an IV. Other Twitter users also argued that Trump’s son did not travel with him around the time he was seen wearing the bandage.
The public can only rely on Sanders’ words that the bandage was only caused by a father-and-son bonding moment. However, the same Politico report noted that Trump is seen wearing the adhesive bandage, interestingly, around the same time when he received his physical exam last year.
Trump had his mandated physical exam in January 2018 that was conducted by then Physician to the President, Dr. Ronny L. Jackson. Part of the report’s summary reads, “The President’s overall health is excellent. … All clinical data indicates that the President is currently very healthy and that he will remain so for the duration of his Presidency.” Sanders previously confirmed the President will undergo another routine check-up this year but no specific date was given, The Hill reported.
