At the Republican National Convention on Thursday, Donald Trump ascended the stage to accept the nomination of the Republican Party and deliver his first statement since the attempted assassination at the rally. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of unity while also accusing Democrats of "destroying our country."

“Division in our society must be healed. I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America because there is no victory in winning for half of America. So tonight, with faith and devotion, I proudly accept your nomination for president of the United States,” Trump stated.

Nevertheless, later on in his speech, Donald Trump criticized the Democratic party for destroying the nation through "failed and even incompetent leadership," criticized "witch hunts." He referred to Nancy Pelosi as "crazy."

“Give us your vote. I am trying to buy your vote. I will be honest about that. We must not criminalize dissent or demonize political disagreement, which is what’s been happening in our country, likely at a level that nobody has ever seen before. In that spirit, the Democrat Party should immediately stop weaponizing, the justice system and labeling their political opponent as an enemy of democracy. Especially since that is not true. In fact, I am the one saving democracy for the people of our country,” Trump continued.

Because his case involving secret materials was dismissed in Florida, the former president boasted about his recent court victory, The Wrap reported.

“If Democrats want to unify our country, they should drop these partisan witch hunts, which I have been going through for approximately eight years, and they should do that without delay and allow an election to proceed that is worthy of our people. We’re going to win it anyway,” Trump stated.

This is a change from Trump's regular campaign speeches, as he did not concentrate on Joe Biden but instead referenced the Democrats. On the other hand, he did make a single reference to the incumbent president.

“If you took the 10 worst presidents in the history of the United States and added them up, they would not have done the damage that Biden has done. Only going to use the term once, Biden, I’m not going to use the name anymore just one time. The damage that he’s done to this country is unthinkable,” Trump shared.

There were several instances throughout the speech in which Trump referred to the administration now in power as the "current administration."

According to a story published by CNN earlier on Thursday, President Trump played a significant part in the process of composing the speeches to be delivered at the convention and selecting the speakers. In addition, the former president stated that he decided to abandon his initial speech, which had been intended to be directed at the administration of Vice President Joe Biden, in favor of delivering a message of unity in the wake of his near-death experience.

There is a significant amount of content that has been shaped by the attempted assassination and the survival of the former president at the convention that is being held in Milwaukee. After the shooting, the delegates chanted "Fight!" in unison on multiple occasions, referring to the words that Trump said shortly after the incident.

“I’m not supposed to be here tonight. I stand before you, in this arena, only by the grace of Almighty God,” Trump said to a crowd that immediately broke out in a “Yes you are!” chant across the convention floor.

“For the rest of my life, I will be grateful for the love shown by that giant audience of patriots that stood bravely on that fateful evening in Pennsylvania. Despite such a heinous attack, we unite this evening, more determined than ever. I am more determined than ever,’ Trump said.

It should also be noted that some fans have arrived at the Republican National Convention sporting white ear bandages, which Trump has been seen wearing in the convention hall to conceal his disability. On the subject of the actual injuries that Trump experienced as a result of the attempt on his life, there is still a lack of information.

On the fourth and final night of the convention, there were other remarks delivered by Eric Trump, the son of the previous president, Hulk Hogan, a professional wrestler; Dana White, the chief executive officer of the Ultimate Fighting Championship; Tucker Carlson, a former host on Fox News, and Alina Habba, a lawyer representing Trump.

Because the Republican Party has entirely rallied around Trump's candidacy, the Republican National Committee (RNC) this year has a certain sense of cohesiveness that has not been evident in previous years. At several points throughout the convention, former opponents of Donald Trump, such as Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, who competed against him in the primary election, gave speeches.

On Monday, Trump announced that he would be running for president, and he chose Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate. On Wednesday, Vance approached the podium, expressing his appreciation to Trump and reaffirming his commitment to the former president. This came just a few years after Vance had referred to Trump as "America's Hitler."
