‘Dragon Ball Super’ Spoilers, News, Updates: Cabba’s Unexpected Elimination, Possible Cell Return

There have been plenty of unexpected developments in “Dragon Ball Super” already, and the ongoing Tournament of Power match in the manga series brings in another one. This time, it comes in the form of an elimination that hardly anyone was likely expecting. What’s more, it seems that there is a chance that chief Dragon Ball Z antagonist, Cell, might make a return.

As Comicbook.com notes, many fans did not anticipate the elimination of Cabba from the Universe 6 team. The development occurred after the enraged Kale finally lost control and started eliminating teams one after another. Threatened with the complete loss of control and severe damage, the latest chapter of “Dragon Ball Super” saw a desperate attempt at resolving the situation.

Since the only way to stop Kale from destroying herself would be to place the Potara on her ear, this is exactly what Cabba and Caulifla set out to do. Eventually, Kale was given the Potara but Cabba was eliminated, as a result. For those who watched the anime version of “Dragon Ball Super” and read the manga, the difference between these two scenes is stark.

In the “Dragon Ball Super” anime, Cabba was eliminated by Freeza. In some ways, doing it this way actually makes the prospect more interesting.

Speaking of interesting prospects, Comicbook.com also notes that Cell might be making a return. In a Carnival Jump “Dragon Ball Super” Bonus Chapter, it was revealed that Android 17 had tamed some Cell Jr. units, which are made of the same DNA material as Cell. The former villain noted that the tiny green creatures won’t attack strangers, but this development is still telling.

This could then be the thread that would make Cell’s return official canon in “Dragon Ball Super” at some point. It could also just be wishful thinking for fans of the villain, but only the author truly knows how this will go.
