Germany, France, and Britain jointly called for an immediate return to a ceasefire in Gaza, urging Israel to restore full humanitarian access and comply with international humanitarian law. In a statement released Friday, the foreign ministers of the three nations—collectively known as the E3—expressed grave concern over the escalating civilian toll in the region.
The ministers demanded Israel resume essential services such as water and electricity in Gaza, ensure access to medical care, and facilitate temporary evacuations for treatment. They also called on Hamas to immediately release all Israeli hostages.
Emphasizing the devastating impact of the conflict, the E3 ministers stated that a military resolution between Israel and the Palestinians is not viable. Instead, they underscored that only a lasting ceasefire can pave the way toward sustainable peace in the region.
Highlighting the recent damage to the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) building in Gaza, the E3 expressed shock and demanded a full investigation into the incident.
With rising humanitarian concerns and intensifying violence, the E3’s message reinforces growing international pressure for de-escalation, a ceasefire, and adherence to international humanitarian obligations.
