‘Elementary’ season 5’s episode 12, titled “Crowned Clown, Downtown Brown,” is set to follow Sherlock and Watson as they investigate a clown murder. Meanwhile, Chantal’s career at the district attorney’s office is threatened by her ex-husband.
The synopsis for "Crowned Clown, Downtown Brown" posted on TV Muse reads, “When Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) investigate a clown's murder upstate, they discover a connection between his death and the creation of a new weaponized virus.
Also, Watson helps Bell (Jon Michael Hill) when he's targeted by his new love interest Chantal's (Chasten Harmon) ex-husband in attempt to sabotage her career at the district attorney's office.”
According to Yahoo! News, Harmon’s character was first introduced in season 5’s episode 6, titled “Ill Tidings.” In the episode, Bell’s interest in Chantal becomes apparent despite her being a married woman. When Sherlock gives him tips on how to flirt with her, Bell admits that he admires Chantal for her being great at her work.
It seems that Chantal’s career is in imminent danger with her ex-husband still lurking around. The incoming episode will also feature Joan as she tries to help Bell deal with him. This would put Joan and Bell’s relationship dynamics at play.
Meanwhile, Joan and Sherlock will take on an interesting new case involving the murder of a clown, which may very well be connected to a weaponized virus.
‘Elementary’ season 5’s episode 12, titled “Crowned Clown, Downtown Brown,” is scheduled to air on CBS on January 15, 2017. It was directed by Michael Slovis and written by Jordan Rosenberg.
The procedural drama series is a contemporary take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic detective Sherlock Holmes.
