Congressional Democrats have released daily schedules belonging to Jeffrey Epstein, covering the years 2014 to 2019. The documents, obtained through a subpoena from Epstein’s estate, detail planned meetings with high-profile figures including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, billionaire investor Peter Thiel, and former White House strategist Steve Bannon. The calendars, however, do not confirm whether the meetings actually occurred. In response to media coverage, Musk denied the claims on X, calling them “false.” Representatives for Thiel, Bannon, and Britain’s Prince Andrew have not issued statements.
The newly disclosed documents also revealed that Prince Andrew flew on Epstein’s private jet in May 2000 alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. This adds to evidence from Maxwell’s 2021 trial, where flight logs confirmed Andrew had traveled on Epstein’s plane multiple times. Andrew, who in 2022 settled a lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre, has denied allegations of sexual abuse and expressed regret for his association with Epstein.
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee argue the schedules show Epstein’s ties to some of the world’s wealthiest and most influential individuals. They urged the Justice Department to release all files from its sex trafficking investigation, accusing the agency of withholding critical evidence despite earlier promises. Committee spokesperson Sara Guerrero stated, “Oversight Democrats will not stop until we identify everyone complicit in Epstein’s heinous crimes.”
The Department of Justice previously declined to make its Epstein case files public, sparking criticism from both Democrats and Trump’s conservative base. Epstein, who pleaded guilty to state-level prostitution charges in 2008, was later indicted on federal sex trafficking charges in 2019. He died by suicide while awaiting trial. His partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, is serving a 20-year prison sentence for recruiting and grooming underage victims and is now appealing her conviction to the U.S. Supreme Court.
These revelations underscore Epstein’s extensive network and reignite pressure for full transparency in the ongoing investigation into his crimes.
