It seems that gamers are going to find out more about the “Fallout 76” beta testing phase in the next few days. Reports indicate that Bethesda’s first foray into the online multiplayer action role-playing game genre is expected to enter beta next month, and Pete Hines, the studio’s senior vice president of global marketing and communications, has recently tweeted that they will reveal more details soon.
As of the moment, the only way to join is to pre-order “Fallout 76.” Once that is done, you will receive a redemption code located on the receipt or email confirmation, and all you have to do is to create a Bethesda.net account before you enter the code here.
Interestingly, the Bethesda says that the “Fallout 76“ beta will contain the full game and all the progress made will carry over once it launches.
Meanwhile, Hines also confirmed that “Fallout 76“ does not support cross-platform play.
“Folks, chill. I work with a lot of devs and games for whom this is important going forward,” Hines said. “Fallout 76 does not support crossplay, for a number of reasons. I have no idea if it ever will. But I assure you it is not on our radar right now as we focus on B.E.T.A. and Launch,” he said.
The tweet came a few hours after Sony confirmed the feature would be available for “Fortnite.” Sony was believed to be the only roadblock to cross-play becoming a reality, and during an interview with Eurogamer at QuakeCon 2018 last month, Hines noted that the feature was not essential for “Fallout 76.“
"Fallout 76, sure: it would be nice if I could play on my Xbox and my kid is playing on his PC, and we can play together, but if we can't, OK,” Hines said.
“Fallout 76” is scheduled to hit the market on Nov. 14.
