"Far Cry 5's" "Lost on Mars" downloadable content (DLC) looks set to provide a more light-hearted experience compared to the game's main story. Gamespot has posted a preview video of the new DLC's first 16 minutes.
The follow-up to “Far Cry 5's” first DLC, “Hours” of Darkness,” “Lost on Mars” stars a new protagonist, Nick Rye, who is also one of the main non-playable characters the main character encounters in "Far Cry 5's" main storyline.
In the 16-minute video, Nick Rye is abducted by aliens after being stopped at the railroad crossing by a stubborn cow. The unfortunate Nick wakes up in what appears to be some sort of space base where he finally finds the literally disembodied voice of Hurk, who may be responsible for his abduction.
Hurk explains to Nick that he has been transported to Mars to help with the stopping of an alien invasion. As incredulous as it sounds, Hurk asks you to “roll with it,” an attitude that will serve the player well to fully enjoy what “Far Cry 5” "Lost on Mars" brings to the table.
The DLC's hilarious nature is also underpinned by the preview of the new weapons included in the pack. With names such as “Blaster of Disaster” even just for the most basic weapon that Rye encounters, it's hard to take the rest of the game as seriously as playing the original “Far Cry 5” campaign.
People who have purchased the “Far Cry 5” season pass, including those who got the Gold Edition of the game, can download the new “Far Cry 5" Mars DLC for free when it comes out on July 17. The third “Far Cry 5” DLC, “Dead Living Zombies” is due to follow in August, rounding out the three DLC packs for “Far Cry 5's” season pass.
