As an array of Federal Reserve policymakers shared their views of a faster rate hike in 2017 that anticipated by the financial market, the market has finally started to price three rate hikes in 2017, for the first time since the Fed projected three rate hikes at its December meeting. For the first time, the probability of three rate hikes this year has reached above 50 percent (53 percent) as the probability of a rate hike in March reached as high as 82 percent on Tuesday.

- The market is pricing first rate hike in March, a second in September and the final one in December, each with more than 50 percent probability.
Some Fed officials have indicated the possibility of more than three rate hikes in 2017 if the government follows through President Trump’s spending plans.
