Square Enix has finally announced that it’s going to release “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” this year. The revelation has been received with joyous uproar since fans of the game are considered the most fervent lot among all the entries of the franchise.
And not without cause. While outsiders may see that “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” is similar to other installments by the franchise, it’s actually one that truly stands out, TSA reported.
There are several reasons why this is, but perhaps the best reason is due to the fact that the game focuses on character development rather than overarching events. Sure, “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” will have unfolding plots that will be tied on the title’s conclusion.
But the growth of its characters, especially of Squall, will be one to keep track on. “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” will have Squall go from a reserved and brooding guy to someone who finally opens up to his companions. Where most of the “Final Fantasy” installments would have players reacting to events, the eighth entry will have their journey dictated by their own choices.
Another reason is the soundtrack of “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster.” This aspect is really what sets this entry apart from its kin as the music in this game is the best that the whole franchise can offer. From memorable melodies that strum the heartstrings to the grand, sweeping epics that will be featured during big moments, the game’s score is simply breathtaking to behold.
So why did it take so long for “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” to be created if it has a lot of ardent followers? The main reason is the developers desire to deliver a gleaming product. It’s been revealed that Square Enix has been in development within the studio for years. But due to the game celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the developers wanted it to be perfect in today’s gaming ecosystem, GameRevolution reported.
Add the fact that HDTVs are practically ubiquitous nowadays, and the developers found themselves in a tight spot where they have no choice but to simply live up to today’s gaming standard. So where is “Final Fantasy 8: Remaster” coming out? Square Enix announced that it would be launching later in the year, although no exact date has been given as of this writing. Still, others are simply happy that the game is finally getting the remaster it deserves after being in limbo for a good two decades.
